Basic Personality

Loyal, steadfast, dependable and stubborn are adjectives you regularly hear used to describe the Taurus. Hey, three out of four ain't bad!

Taurus folks are salt-of the-earth types; laid back, with easy-going personalities. Easy going that is, until they lose their patience! It takes a lot to get Taurus upset but when you do, watch out! You'll deal with a raging bull.

So, I guess, it's no surprise that Taurus are also known for being bull headed. Once they have a set a goal for their selves, Taurus get "tunnel vision". Nothing stands in their way. No matter how challenging the road to success is, Taurus will go the extra mile to reach their destination. These folks are also know to be "money mongers". Taureans love to make and hoard extra cash. Next to sitting down to a home cooked meal, money in the bank is a real big deal. Taurus love to eat; especially hearty, comfort foods; like meat and potatoes. Therefore, it's very important that they stay active and get some exercise so they'd don't put on excess weight.

What really motivates a Taurus? Some thing that's not easily attainable. Tell a Taurus they can't do something and they will go all out to prove to you they can! Having a comfortable lifestyle and a nice home is also very important. With the exception of Cancer, these spring born babies are the most likely of all the zodiac to want a secure family life. Bulls are possessive creatures and do not like to part with anything. They aren't as open to change as other signs, preferring the same routine even to greener pastures. They can get too comfortable some times and get stuck in a rut. But Taurus people are people you can count on. They're consistent and trustworthy...remember, "salt of the earth" types.

At Work

Since Taurus are such good money managers and "makers" you will find many in areas of accounting, banking and investments. Some are excellent business owners because they realize that by owning their own companies, their earning capacity is limitless. This motivates them to no end. Most Taurus take a career path based on its earning potential or long term security rather than something they feel passionate about. Although you will find Bulls in the liberal arts field too. Some are chefs, artists, actors and writers but the majority will seek work in high paying, pensioned careers. Many follow in the family footsteps. If their dad was a union construction worker, with thirty years of service and a pension and good insurance, it's likely the Taurus will follow a similar path. A regular paycheck is important.

As a worker, Bulls are determined to get ahead when they can see a financial payoff. If they really don't enjoy the work they do and their paycheck is just so-so, they can grow very lazy and will just put forth minimum effort to get the job done.

The Friend

In friendships, Taurus have a small circle of close friends, usually who enjoy the same interests. Taurus men enjoy sports both participating and watching. In mid life, it's usually the later with a case of beer, a big screen TV and a comfortable couch. The Taurus gals enjoy socializing by going out to lunch. Both sexes tend to keep the same friends and same rituals and eating out is a big one, When Taurus decide to make you a friend, they do not do so lightly. They are particular who they choose to spend time with. As a friend, they are loyal but can become quite possessive too.

In Love

Taurus are usually looking for long term commitment. They want the "real thing"; true love that lasts a lifetime. They don't like change. That's why so many born under this sign stay in relationships that are way past their prime. If you catch the Bull's attention, understand that they may take their time getting around to asking you out. But don't think, even for a minute, that they're wishy-washy about a relationship. That's just the Taurus' route to love. They can be very patient and slow moving. So while you're thinking the Bull isn't interested and ready to give up; he or she's just revving up their engine!

When you do relax into a dating routine, you can time it like clockwork; dinner every Friday night at seven, Saturday it's bowling and drinks and Sunday a lazy afternoon in front of the tv. When you get around to a full-blown commitment, expect a sensual, loving but possessive and jealous partner.

For the most part, the Bull is not prone to cheating and expects the same from a partner. But if you happen to stray, even once, it's likely your relationship will be over for good. It takes a lot to get a Taurus to leave a relationship, but once they do close that door, it's over for good.
